Equal Pay Act 2020

The Equal Pay Act 2020 establishes the baseline principle of equal pay for equal work and work of equal value, and prohibits any discrimination in remuneration on the basis of gender.

Status: In force since 1 January 2020.

Scope

- Applies to all employers in the Republic of Mulondt, regardless of size.

- Covers all components of pay, including base salary, bonuses and allowances.

Core obligation

- Employers must not pay employees differently for the same or equivalent work on the basis of gender.

- An employee who believes they have been paid unequally may bring a claim before the Labour Court.

Enforcement

- Breaches may result in back-pay orders and compensation set by the Labour Court.

There are no pay-reporting, pay-range-disclosure or pay-transparency obligations under current Mulondt law. The Equal Pay Act 2020 sets only the baseline non-discrimination principle.
